Dad Accused of ‘Drugging’ Daughter’s Three Friends During Sleepover – See what happened!!

A distressing incident unfolded on August 26, 2023, when three 12-year-old girls, who had attended a sleepover at Michael Meyden’s residence in Lake Oswego, Oregon, were allegedly drugged.

The Lake Oswego Police Department disclosed that Meyden, a 57-year-old father and host of the sleepover, now faces serious charges, including causing ingestion of a controlled substance, application of a scheduled-4 controlled substance, and delivery of a controlled substance to minors.

The investigation commenced after the girls were admitted to Randall Children’s Hospital, reporting exposure to an unknown prescription drug.

Authorities determined that Meyden, the host of the sleepover, was responsible for the substances found in the girls’ bloodstream.

Meyden turned himself in at the Clackamas County Jail, subsequently pleading not guilty during an arraignment and posting a $50,000 bail.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Meyden had organized a “spa night” and sleepover for his daughter and her friends in the basement.

The alleged drugging involved providing mango smoothies with distinct colored reusable straws for each girl. Meyden purportedly insisted that the girls drink from their assigned cups. One girl described the smoothies as having “tiny white chunks throughout and sprinkled on top.”

Disturbingly, one of the girls reported feeling “woozy, hot, and clumsy” after consuming the smoothie, descending into a “thick, deep sleep.”

Another girl, who consumed little of the smoothie, claimed that Meyden came downstairs multiple times during the night. She asserted that he attempted to separate two of the girls as they slept, creating an unsettling atmosphere.

This particular girl expressed feeling Meyden’s presence, indicating he was watching them, and alleged that he conducted tests to ensure they were asleep.

These tests included placing his finger under her nose to check if she was soundly asleep and waving his hand in front of her face. Feeling increasingly uncomfortable, she sent a frantic text to her mother around 1:43 am, pleading for immediate assistance due to feeling unsafe.

The text conveyed a desperate plea: “Mom please pick me up and say I had a family emergency. I don’t feel safe… Please pick up. Please.

PLEASE!!” Fortunately, she managed to contact a family friend who promptly retrieved her. Subsequently, the distressed mother informed the parents of the other girls, who arrived at Meyden’s home around 3 am, insisting on taking their children home.

As per the probable cause affidavit, one of the girls exhibited concerning symptoms, such as difficulty walking, prompting her parents to rush her to the hospital.

Twelve hours post-consumption of the smoothie, she still displayed signs of impairment, including slow movement, reliance on her mother for balance, heavy eyelids, and slowed speech.

Medical tests later confirmed benzodiazepine in their systems, substances commonly prescribed for anxiety or insomnia, such as Valium, Xanax, Ativan, and Klonopin.
