Bad Bunny Takes Legal Action Against Fan Over Unauthorized Concert Upload

“Bad Bunny Files Lawsuit Against Fan for Unauthorized Concert Footage on YouTube”

International music sensation Bad Bunny is taking legal action against a fan, Eric Guillermo Madronal Garrone, who allegedly uploaded unauthorized full-song performances from Bad Bunny’s concert in Salt Lake City on February 21.

In the lawsuit, Bad Bunny asserts that Garrone, operating the YouTube channel MADforliveMUSIC, violated the artist’s rights by recording and sharing the concert footage without proper authorization or consent.

Claiming ownership of the live performance music rights, Bad Bunny argues that Garrone’s actions are not only unauthorized but also detrimental to his official YouTube page, diverting views and ad revenue.

Despite attempting standard takedown notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), Bad Bunny alleges that Garrone filed counterclaims to reinstate the videos on YouTube, prompting the artist to pursue legal action.

Upon investigation, it appears that Garrone has removed most videos from his YouTube channel, except for a 9-minute clip featuring the concert orchestra that opened for Bad Bunny that night.

Bad Bunny seeks an injunction to prevent Garrone from further posting unauthorized footage and demands either a flat $150,000 for each video or compensation for actual damages caused by the postings.

The legal dispute highlights the growing challenges artists face in protecting their intellectual property in the digital age, as fans leverage online platforms to share concert experiences without proper authorization.
