The announcement came as a shock to many, as the Princess, aged 42, revealed she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
Buckingham Palace conveyed the monarch’s reaction to this news, stating, “His Majesty is ‘so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did’.”
Following their time together in the hospital, King Charles has maintained close contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the ensuing weeks.

Initially admitted for abdominal surgery on January 16, Kate’s condition was initially believed to be non-cancerous. However, following a successful operation, cancer was discovered.

In February, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Charles had been diagnosed with a form of cancer distinct from prostate cancer.
