Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert found herself in a precarious situation during a pre-Christmas Republican event in New York City, allegedly becoming intoxicated to the point of causing disruption and being instructed to refrain from taking selfies with former President Donald Trump.
The incident occurred at the New York Young Republican Club’s annual gala on December 9, 2023, as reported by CNN, based on accounts from eyewitnesses present at the event.
According to CNN, waitstaff at Cipriani Wall Street initially declined to serve Boebert any more alcohol after observing her intoxicated state.
Sources informed the network that a waiter approached Boebert and informed her that she had been “overserved.”
Subsequently, Boebert, a Republican representative from Colorado, approached Trump, with whom she shared a table, persistently attempting to take photos with the former president, causing a disturbance.
Trump’s security detail reportedly intervened, advising Boebert to depart from the situation, which she presumably complied with.
This incident follows another embarrassing occurrence involving Boebert a few months earlier. She made headlines when she was escorted out of a Denver theater for engaging in inappropriate behavior with her date, Quinn Gallagher, during a performance of the musical “Beetlejuice.” Surveillance footage captured the indiscretion, capturing Boebert’s ejection from the theater.
