Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher announce divorce after 13 years of marriage

Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have announced their decision to end their marriage after nearly 14 years of union and over two decades together.

The couple took to their Instagram Stories on the evening of Friday, April 5, to share the news with their followers.

In a post accompanied by a photo of themselves donning tennis attire, they penned a heartfelt message: “After a lengthy tennis match spanning over twenty years, we are finally hanging up our racquets.”

They revealed that they had jointly filed for divorce in 2023 and emphasized their commitment to maintaining privacy throughout this process.

Expressing gratitude for their supporters, they affirmed their enduring love and dedication to their children while respectfully requesting privacy for their family.

Sacha Baron Cohen, aged 52, and Isla Fisher, aged 48, first crossed paths in 2001 and became engaged three years later.

Their journey together expanded with the arrival of their first child, a daughter, in October 2007. Notably, Fisher embraced Judaism before their wedding in October 2010, held in Paris.

Their family grew further with the births of their second and third children in the summers of 2010 and March 2015, respectively.

Despite their private struggles, Baron Cohen’s recent headlines have been colored by controversy surrounding his former co-star, Rebel Wilson.

The two shared the screen in the 2016 spy action comedy “Grimsby,” where Wilson portrayed Baron Cohen’s on-screen girlfriend.

Wilson revealed in her memoir feelings of being “sexually harassed” by the actor during their time on set, reigniting discussions about workplace conduct in the entertainment industry.
