Originally from Citrus Heights, California, Mandisa pursued her passion for music academically before gaining recognition through her participation in the 2005 season of “American Idol.
” Despite placing ninth in the competition, Mandisa’s talent and charisma propelled her to stardom alongside other notable contestants such as Katharine McPhee, Kellie Pickler, Chris Daughtry, Paris Bennett, Elliott Yamin, and eventual winner Taylor Hicks.
