Ryan Garcia Tested Positive For PED Before Haney Fight

Ryan Garcia’s triumphant victory over Devin Haney has been clouded by allegations of doping after he reportedly failed a drug test conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) just a day before the highly anticipated bout.

The test revealed the presence of Ostarine, a substance known for its muscle-building and strength-enhancing properties.

In response to the accusations, the 25-year-old boxing sensation took to social media to vehemently deny any wrongdoing, expressing disbelief at the timing of the allegations and questioning why they weren’t raised prior to the fight. Garcia adamantly asserted his commitment to fair play, stating, “Everybody knows that I don’t cheat.”

Despite his victory, Garcia’s win may face scrutiny and potential reversal if the doping allegations hold true, possibly resulting in a declaration of a “no contest.”

Devin Haney’s father and trainer, Bill Haney, expressed outrage at the news, accusing Garcia of attempting to undermine their fair competition. He condemned the alleged doping, emphasizing the importance of a level playing field in boxing.

Garcia does have the option to request testing of a second sample (B sample) collected on the same day as the initial test, potentially providing further clarity on the situation.
