9-Year-Old Miraculously Dodges Bullets in Fort Worth Drive-By Shooting

A chilling incident unfolded in Fort Worth, Texas, as captured by distressing home surveillance footage earlier this month.

The video depicts a drive-by shooting right outside a residential building, with four bullets piercing the walls and narrowly missing a 9-year-old boy who was innocently seated on his couch.

Swiftly reacting, the child instinctively drops to the floor and takes cover on the armrest before seeking refuge in his mother’s room, demonstrating remarkable presence of mind that likely saved his life.

While the footage captures the harrowing ordeal inside, the situation outside was equally dire. The drive-by shooting left six others injured, including a toddler and her 6-year-old brother, both of whom sustained gunshot wounds but fortunately survived and are now in recovery.

Reflecting on the traumatic experience, the 9-year-old boy expressed gratitude for his own safety while empathizing with the other victims, stating to FOX4, “I was just glad that I didn’t get hit, but I felt bad for those kids who got hit.

I felt terrorized in those moments.” Law enforcement authorities have obtained exterior surveillance footage showing someone firing shots from the back seat of a red Kia Soul, but no arrests have been made thus far.

In response to the incident, two separate GoFundMe campaigns have been launched—one to support the victims and another to assist the boy’s mother in relocating from the neighborhood, underscoring the urgent need for community support and solidarity in the face of such senseless violence.
