Son Allegedly Shoots Parents Due to Upset Over Upbringing

Jeremiah Estel Blair, 19, reportedly shot his parents inside their home in Chandler, located approximately 20 miles from Phoenix, on the morning of Monday, May 13, according to police statements.

The injured couple was swiftly transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Blair was arrested at the scene without resistance and purportedly confessed to the shooting during police questioning, as detailed in court documents obtained by Fox 10.

He voiced grievances about his upbringing, stating that he felt neglected and mistreated during his childhood.

According to Chandler police detectives, Blair admitted to harboring plans for years to kill his parents. Originally intending to carry out the attack on Mother’s Day, he postponed it until the early hours of the following morning, court records revealed.

As Blair’s father descended the stairs around 5:30 a.m., he was met by his son wielding a gun and a video camera, reportedly prepared to record the violent act, as reported by AZ Family. Prior to firing at his father, Blair allegedly forewarned him about the impending incident.

Upon hearing the commotion, Blair’s mother emerged from her bedroom and was shot in the chest, according to details outlined in court documents cited by the Arizona Republic.

Following the shooting, Blair expressed mixed emotions. While he believed his father would likely survive, he was allegedly content at the prospect of his mother’s death, court documents claimed.

Despite exhibiting some remorse, Blair’s actions were deemed premeditated and deliberate. He faces two counts of first-degree attempted murder and is currently held in custody pending legal proceedings.
