Sophie Turner Reveals She Considered Terminating First Pregnancy with Joe Jonas
Sophie Turner wasn’t sure she was ready to become a mom in her early 20s, admitting she considered all her options at the time, including terminating her first pregnancy.
The “Game of Thrones” actress opened up about her motherhood journey in a new interview with British Vogue, where she revealed she had doubts about keeping the child.
Sophie shared that when she found out she was pregnant during a retreat in Bali, she spent a week discussing her options with onsite therapists before telling her estranged husband, Joe Jonas.
When she finally broke the news, she handed Joe the pregnancy test and asked, “What do you think we should do? Do you think we should have it?”
Sophie admitted she wasn’t sure if she was ready to be a mother, especially during such a carefree period in her life.
However, she eventually decided to go through with the pregnancy. Sophie and Joe welcomed their daughter Willa in July 2020, and their family grew with the addition of their second daughter, Delphine, less than two years later.
Despite her initial hesitation, Sophie now considers motherhood her favorite role, noting that it was her idea to have a second child.
She explained, “Because my ex and I travel so much, I wanted Willa to have a sibling. I wanted them to have each other. They’re so much fun, total girlie girls and absolute rays of sunshine in my life.”
Sophie and Joe are no longer together, as the singer filed for divorce in September. They have been involved in a legal battle over the custody of their two daughters.
Sophie also addressed accusations of being a “bad mom” for going out occasionally, calling the claims abhorrent and emphasizing that she always puts her children first.
In March, Sophie, who is currently dating Peregrine Pearson, requested their divorce case be reactivated after their temporary custody agreement expired in January.
