Rapper Future faced backlash for his belated and brief birthday message to his son, Future Jr., on the boy’s 10th birthday.
Future Jr., the son of Future and Ciara, celebrated his milestone birthday on Sunday, May 19. Earlier in the day, Russell Wilson, Ciara’s husband and Future Jr.’s stepfather, shared a heartfelt video collage of memorable moments with the boy.
Accompanying the video, Russell wrote a touching caption: “Happy Bday Future! The big 10!! We are so proud of you & so grateful for you. You are our biggest blessing. An amazing son! The best big brother!! An absolute baller! So kind and loving! Keep shining. Keep loving.

In contrast, Future’s message came after the day had ended. He posted on X at midnight, writing a single sentence: “Thank god for Baby Future. More life More blessings…I love u infinity,” without including a photo of his son.
Social media users quickly compared the two posts, criticizing Future for the perceived lack of effort in his message.
Many X users commented under his post, calling him out for not being as attentive a father to Future Jr. and his other children from multiple relationships.
