A local news crew in Milwaukee accidentally captured a brutal hit-and-run on camera, and the viral moment occurred entirely by chance.

Journalist Kaylee Staral was in a Milwaukee neighborhood covering a follow-up on a recent shooting when a silver sedan came speeding down the street.

As Staral and a bystander chatted on the sidewalk, a loud screeching sound was heard off-camera. The silver sedan narrowly avoided colliding with an SUV but seconds later crashed head-on into a parked minivan.

The driver immediately fled the scene, sprinting down the neighborhood street, while another person crawled out of the passenger seat, calling for help.

Eyewitnesses quickly gathered around the car, assisting the injured passenger despite his pain-filled protests. According to police, the incident occurred at 7 PM on Sunday and involved a recently stolen vehicle.

While not shown in the video, a 57-year-old man who was in the minivan was taken to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The injured passenger in the stolen sedan, identified as a 16-year-old, was arrested after receiving medical treatment.

The driver remains at large, and police are urging anyone with information to contact the Milwaukee Police Department at 414-935-7360.
