Jennifer Lopez will not be hitting the road this summer after all, as the singer has canceled her planned tour before it even started.
A representative for Live Nation has announced that JLo’s “THIS IS ME…LIVE” tour, which was scheduled to begin in June and visit numerous North American venues through August, has been completely scrapped. The reason given is that Lopez wants to take time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.
Lopez addressed the cancellation on her website, OntheJLo, expressing her deep regret. “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down.
Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary,” she wrote. “I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…”
No further official explanation was provided, but sources with direct knowledge have indicated that weak ticket sales were not a factor in the decision.
