Sean Kingston Faces Florida Fraud Charges – Sheriff Demands He Pay for Extradition Costs

Sean Kingston has been extradited from California to Florida to face charges in a $1 million fraud case, and now the Broward County Sheriff’s Office wants him to foot the bill for the transport costs.

According to new legal documents obtained, the Sheriff’s Office is requesting that the court order Sean to reimburse the taxpayers of Broward County $5,268.53, covering expenses such as commercial airline tickets, hotels, car rentals, and travel allowances for the U.S. Marshals and Broward County deputies involved in his extradition.

Sean’s attorney, Robert Rosenblatt said  that Sean arrived in Florida on Sunday night and that their current focus is on securing his release on bond, putting the restitution issue on hold for now.

Sean faces 10 charges related to an alleged organized scheme to defraud multiple companies, including accusations involving an exotic car dealer, a jeweler, and other businesses, amounting to significant six-figure losses.

Additionally, Sean is charged with grand theft for an $86,000 custom bed, writing bad checks, and defrauding banks. While the Sheriff’s Office seeks to add the extradition costs to his charges, a judge has yet to approve this request.
