Disneyland Employee Dies After Golf Cart Accident at Park

A tragic incident at Disneyland resulted in the death of an employee following a golf cart accident, according to a statement from the Anaheim Police Department.

The accident, which took place on Wednesday, led to the employee’s death on Friday due to injuries sustained.

Police reports indicate that the accident occurred just before 11:30 AM PT on a backstage area of Disneyland, inaccessible to the general public.

The victim, 60-year-old Bonnye Mavis Lear, a longtime manager at the exclusive Club 33, suffered a severe head injury after falling from a moving golf cart.

Lear was a passenger at the time of the accident, which authorities have described as purely accidental, with no involvement of drugs or alcohol. The driver of the cart was unharmed.

Lear was immediately transported to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries two days later. Her identity and role were confirmed by both the Orange County Register and Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock, who expressed the company’s commitment to supporting Lear’s family and colleagues during this tragic period.

Lear had been a key figure at Club 33, a prestigious and members-only dining venue at Disneyland, where she had served as the guest services manager for nearly ten years.

The Anaheim Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident to ensure all details are thoroughly examined.
