Ryan Garcia Handcuffed and Arrested for Felony Vandalism in Los Angeles

Ryan Garcia’s attorney, Darin Chavez, reports that the boxer was taken to a local hospital by the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) for evaluation and treatment and could potentially face charges for public intoxication.

Garcia was arrested for felony vandalism on Saturday afternoon at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills, where video footage shows him being led away in handcuffs by police.

According to law enforcement sources, Garcia allegedly caused significant property damage to his hotel room and the hallway, resulting in felony vandalism charges, as California law defines damage exceeding $400 as a felony.

We have obtained a video showing Beverly Hills police escorting Garcia from the Waldorf to a squad car. Although Garcia’s face is obscured by a helmet, his distinctive back tattoos are visible, confirming his identity.

The 25-1 boxer was reportedly under the influence of alcohol or drugs but complied with authorities and was taken into custody without incident.

Eyewitnesses observed nearly a dozen police cars at the scene, indicating a significant response to the incident.

Earlier in the week, police conducted a welfare check at the Waldorf Astoria after a family member expressed concern for Garcia’s well-being.

He appeared fine at that time, and officers left without further action. However, later that night, Garcia’s behavior led the hotel to stop serving him alcohol.

Despite recent professional success, including a victory over Devin Haney earlier this year, Garcia has faced controversy and personal struggles.

After his win, it was revealed he had tested positive for a banned substance, though he claims it was unintentional. Additionally, he has been dealing with personal difficulties, including his mother’s recent breast cancer diagnosis.

Garcia remains in custody as the situation unfolds.
