Prince William has given the England squad a royal farewell ahead of their journey to Germany for the UEFA European Championship.

As the President of the Football Association, the Prince of Wales wished Gareth Southgate’s 26-man team good luck at St. George’s Park, the team’s training ground.

During the send-off, Prince William chatted with Southgate and presented personalized shirts to each of the squad members.

In addition to the royal send-off, schools from across the Midlands were invited to St. George’s Park for a football festival.

Here, schoolchildren participated in friendly matches, adding to the celebratory atmosphere as England prepared for the tournament.

Prince William, who attended England’s matches during Euro 2020 (held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic), opted not to attend the Qatar World Cup.

Back in the UK, pubs are gearing up for the summer’s football excitement, with the nation eager to support the England team.

Despite a disappointing 1-0 loss to Iceland in their final match at Wembley, which has dampened spirits slightly, Southgate’s squad remains among the tournament favorites.

The England team is heading to their luxurious base near Blankenhain in central Germany. This retreat, set in 350 acres of scenic countryside, features three golf courses, a spa, and a Wembley-quality training pitch, making it one of the most impressive headquarters for any team in the competition.

Training sessions will commence on this top-notch pitch tomorrow as the team prepares for their opening match against Serbia on Sunday.

The local community in Blankenhain has warmly welcomed the England squad. Each player will receive a “welcome bag” filled with local delights, including wine, crackers, and dumpling broth.

Adding a personal touch, Bayern Munich star Thomas Müller, who trained at the hotel before England’s arrival, left a note for his club teammate Harry Kane.

Müller’s message wished the Three Lions striker well, praising the “great conditions” and “friendly people,” while humorously noting the occasional rain.
