Police close investigation into man who nibbled on a boy’s ear in viral Video

The police concluded their investigation, finding no evidence of a crime in the viral video from April.
The video captured a man nibbling the ear of a boy in the background as seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry addressed the audience during BBC’s afternoon session coverage.
An unidentified man was observed whispering to the child before nibbling on his ear, leaving viewers astonished.
Despite being visible on the live broadcast, the boy appeared unaffected and even smiled and waved at the camera as the man withdrew.
Upon realizing he was being recorded, the man grinned awkwardly and shook his head. South Yorkshire Police acknowledged they were “reviewing” the footage following its circulation. During Thursday’s World Championship coverage at The Crucible in Sheffield, a man was caught on camera biting a young boy’s ear.
Mail Sport reached out to South Yorkshire Police in April, and they reported, “On Thursday, April 25th at 9:20 pm, we were notified of a video circulating on social media depicting a man and a boy at the Crucible in Sheffield.
We are cognizant of the footage, and our officers will review its content.”
Subsequently, a representative from the World Snooker Tour commented, “We are informed about this incident, and it has been handed over to the police for investigation.”
Nevertheless, nearly eight weeks later, the police have officially stated that the investigation has concluded. A representative informed Metro.co.uk: “After reviewing the video, authorities have concluded that no criminal activity occurred, and the case has been closed.”
The video had garnered over 12 million views and 58,000 likes by the next morning, with numerous users expressing their shock.
