Rapper Jeezy and Jeannie Mai Finalize Divorce with Settlement Agreement
Former celebrity couple Jeezy and Jeannie Mai have officially finalized their divorce after two years of marriage.
According to **PEOPLE**, the Superior Court of Fulton County in Georgia has approved the dissolution of the marriage between the ex-**The Real** co-host Jeannie Mai, 45, and rapper Jeezy, 46, whose real name is Jay Jenkins.
To maintain privacy regarding the specifics of their divorce settlement, including matters of child support, custody, spousal support, and property division, the couple has agreed to file their divorce documents under seal.
The finalization of their divorce comes nine months after Jeezy filed for divorce in September, following two-and-a-half years of marriage.
The filing indicated that the couple had been “living in a bona fide state of separation” and described their marriage as “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.”
In the documents, Jeezy also sought joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, Monaco, who was born in January 2022.
Following the filing, Jeezy addressed the divorce in a statement, expressing, “The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart.”
He further remarked, “Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains, and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart.”
Jeannie Mai also spoke out about the separation through an Instagram post, featuring a photo of a notebook with the words, “Sometimes, you need to take a break and disconnect, to heal.” This post came a month after the news of the divorce became public.
Their divorce marks the end of a relationship that had begun with much public affection and high-profile visibility, culminating in a marriage that included the birth of their daughter.
Despite their separation, both Jeezy and Mai have emphasized the respect and positive sentiments they continue to hold for each other as they move forward separately.
