Florida Gator Who Ate Homeless Woman Dissected
Last year, a tragic incident unfolded in Largo, Florida, when a homeless woman, Sabrina Peckham, was killed and consumed by an alligator.
Recently released footage and photos from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission shed light on the grim aftermath of this event.
According to the footage, wildlife officials discovered the remains of Peckham inside the alligator after shooting and retrieving it from the water.
The body cam video captures the moment when the alligator, which had already been killed, was pulled out of the canal and loaded onto a truck.
Later, the officials dissected the animal to extract Peckham’s remains, which included her arm and other limbs.
Although the video does not show images of Peckham’s body, it does reveal the dissected alligator, with a warning that the images are extremely graphic.
The full report indicates that the alligator had consumed most of Peckham’s torso. It remains unclear how Peckham ended up in the alligator’s grasp, but local residents alerted authorities in September after spotting what appeared to be a human body in the animal’s mouth.
Images from the scene also show Peckham’s trashed campsite near the canal. Peckham’s daughter has since stated that her mother did not provoke the alligator, suggesting she was likely attacked while returning to her camp in the dark.
