Finidi George Reportedly Steps Down as Super Eagles Coach

Finidi George has reportedly stepped down from his position as head coach of the Super Eagles. This news was broken by popular sports journalist Toyin Ibitoye on X (formerly Twitter) just minutes ago.

Ibitoye posted, “Breaking news: Finidi George @FinidiGeorge_FG has resigned from his role as manager of the @NGSuperEagles.”

Finidi, a celebrated former Nigerian international who was part of the legendary 1994 Super Eagles team that secured Nigeria’s second African Cup of Nations title, had assumed the head coach role only last month.

His resignation comes on the heels of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announcing its search for a foreign Technical Adviser, following a disappointing run in the World Cup Qualifiers.

As of now, neither the NFF nor Finidi George has officially confirmed his resignation.
