WWE Legend Sika Anoa’i – Father of Roman Reigns – Passes Away at 79

WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa’i, the father of current WWE Superstar Roman Reigns, has passed away at the age of 79.

Anoa’i’s nephew, Jahrus Anoa’i, shared the heartbreaking news on Tuesday through an emotional Instagram post.

“He was many things: a hard-working father, a caring brother, a supportive uncle, and a proud grandfather,” Jahrus wrote.

“He was a cherished friend to many, a loving family member whose warmth and kindness knew no bounds, and an inspiration to countless individuals.

His legacy will continue to inspire and uplift future generations, reminding us of the impact one person’s life can have on so many. Rest in love Uncle Sika.”

Sika, whose full name was Leati Sika Amituana’i Anoaʻi, last appeared on WWE television in 2020, standing by his son Roman Reigns following his match at *Hell in a Cell* against his cousin, Jey Uso.

His presence marked a significant moment, highlighting his continued support for his family’s wrestling legacy.

Sika was also the father of the late Matt Anoa’i, known in WWE as “Rosey.” Together with his brother, Afa Anoa’i, Sika formed the legendary tag team, the Wild Samoans.

Their dominance in the ring led them to win the WWF World Tag Team Championships three times. Beyond WWF, they also made notable appearances in various other wrestling promotions, solidifying their status as one of wrestling’s most iconic duos.

Born on the Island of Tutuila in American Samoa in 1945, Sika’s influence extended far beyond his in-ring achievements.

He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2012, honoring his enduring impact on the sport.

Sika Anoa’i’s legacy as a wrestling icon and a beloved family figure leaves an indelible mark on the wrestling world and the many lives he touched throughout his career and personal life.
