The phrase “Hawk Tuah” is becoming an omnipresent trend as a surge of trademark filings seeks to capitalize on its viral fame.

Various businesses are scrambling to secure rights to use the phrase on a wide array of products, from the expected – like t-shirts and athletic wear – to the unconventional, including lubricants, chewing tobacco, oral care items, hair and body products, beverages, and even sexual stimulants.

Documents reveal that trademark applications for “Hawk Tuah” have now surpassed double digits, with companies eager to associate the phrase with anything remotely marketable. There’s even a bid to launch “Hawk Tuah” branded hot sauces – for culinary purposes, naturally.

Interestingly, the wave of applications does not include one from Hailey Welch, the woman credited with coining the now-famous phrase.

Although there are no records of her name among the filings, it’s possible she might be using an alias or an LLC.

According to Jason Poteete, who operates Fathead Threads and has collaborated with Hailey, she has considered trademarking “Hawk Tuah” and has consulted a lawyer about it.

Poteete also noted that the apparel company has already generated over $65,000 from merchandise featuring the catchy phrase, highlighting the lucrative potential that has sparked such widespread interest in securing “Hawk Tuah” trademarks.
