The police in Rivers State, South-south Nigeria, have disclosed particulars of the alleged siege on the Port Harcourt residence of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, by the #EndBadGovernance protesters.
On Tuesday, the sixth day of the nationwide protest towards financial hardship, the protesters reportedly besieged a mansion in Ada George in Obio/Akpor Native Authorities Space belonging to Mr Wike.
Mr Wike is a former governor of Rivers.
Punch newspaper reported that over 50 protesters focused the mansion.
In line with the newspaper, the protesters marched from Agip Junction and gathered in entrance of Mr Wike’s home, singing “Come up, O Compatriots,” the previous nationwide anthem.
They have been, nevertheless, prevented from getting near the home by the police, who fashioned a barrier round them.
