Ekiti unveils committee on N70,000 minimal wage

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has raised a 13- member negotiation committee preparatory to the graduation of cost of the brand new minimal wage within the state.

The Particular Adviser to the governor on Media, Yinka Oyebode, who disclosed in an announcement in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, stated, “The primary assembly of the committee is slated for Wednesday, September 4”.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu had in July signed the brand new minimal wage stipulating N70,000 month-to-month to regulation.

Oyebode, who acknowledged that the negotiation committee could be chaired by the Head of Service, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi, stated that members had been drawn from authorities and organised labour within the state.

He listed members from the federal government aspect because the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Akintunde Oyebode; Particular Advisor on Labour Issues; ⁠Mr Kayode Fatomiluyi; and the Accountant Common/Everlasting Secretary, Mrs Titilayo Olayinka.

The federal government aspect additionally included the PS, Ministry of Justice; Mr Julius Bamise; PS, Ministry of Finance; Mr Oluwadare Jolumo; and PS, Workplace of Institution and Service Issues, Mrs Janet Ajibola.

Oyebode stated members from the Organised Labour are Chairman, Joint Negotiation Council, Olufemi Ajoloko; Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Olatunde Kolapo; Chairman, Commerce Union Congress, Sola Adigun; Secretary, JNC, Yetunde Emmanuel; Secretary, NLC, Dr Israel Taiwo; and Secretary, TUC, Yemi Peters.
