Kendrick Lamar is returning to the Tremendous Bowl stage, this time as headliner.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper will play the Apple Music halftime present on the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 9, 2025, the NFL, Apple Music, Roc Nation and Lamar himself introduced Sunday.
“Rap music remains to be probably the most impactful style to this point. And I will be there to remind the world why,” Lamar stated in a press release. “They acquired the fitting one.”
NFL’s head of music Seth Dudowsky added, “Few artists have impacted music and tradition as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar. Time and time once more, Kendrick has confirmed his distinctive means to craft moments that resonate, redefine, and finally shake the very basis of hip-hop.”
Because the launch of his breakout album good child, m.A.A.d metropolis in 2012, Lamar has received 17 Grammys, and have become the primary non-classical, non-jazz musician to win a Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album DAMN.
Although the Compton, Calif., native hasn’t launched an album since 2022, he’s coming off of a giant summer time. His single “Not Like Us,” a diss observe geared toward Canadian rapper Drake, spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Scorching 100 in June.
Lamar carried out on the 2022 Tremendous Bowl halftime present in Los Angeles with different rap and hip-hop stars.
