Police beef up safety amidst IPOB threats in Imo

The Imo State Police Command, on Monday, beefed up safety within the state forward of the Independence Day celebration.

In a launch signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, it said, “In response to an alleged plot by the Indigenous Folks of Biafra to disrupt the 2024 Independence Day celebration, the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Aboki Danjuma has, in collaboration with sister safety businesses, positioned safety personnel at strategic factors throughout the 27 LGAs within the state.

“The joint safety operation is aimed toward making certain protected and peaceable Independence Day celebration all through the state and to curtail any social unrest which will come up throughout and after the occasion.

“As a part of this technique, joint patrols and confidence-building measures are actively underway. These operations are designed to discourage legal actions and reassure residents that they’ll go about their each day lives with out worry.
