Darkish Horse Comics has launched a brand new comedian to offer the right sendoff to Stranger Issues fan-favorite character, Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn). Stranger Issues and Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire is a prequel comedian sequence to Netflix’s Stranger Issues Season 4 that includes fan-favorite character Eddie Munson!
Darkish Horse’s official description for Stranger Issues and Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire reads:
“Spell slinging, sword swinging, and the luck of the cube formed the lives of the Stranger Issues boys properly earlier than that they had real-life monsters to face.
This crossover comedian options Eddie Munson’s rise to de facto chief of the Hellfire Membership, flashbacks to the legendary marketing campaign that received him hooked on D&D, his recruitment of Lucas, Dustin, and Mike, and glimpses into the fantasy worlds they conquered collectively.”
The four-issue miniseries is written by Jody Houser (Stranger Issues and Dungeons & Dragons, Stranger Issues: Tales From Hawkins) and Eric Campbell (Dungeons & Dragons Worlds & Realms, Frank Frazetta’s Daybreak Assault), illustrated by Diego Galindo (Stranger Issues and Dungeons & Dragons, Stranger Issues: The Tomb of Ybwen), coloured by Diana Sousa (Essential Function: Vox Machina Origins, Essential Function: The Mighty Nein Origins), and lettered by Nate Piekos (Stranger Issues, Minor Threats).
Subject #1 arrives in Winter 2025 and can function variant cowl artwork by Magali Villanueve, Rebecca Pueblar, Jeremy Wilson, Nimit Malavia, and Kyle Lambert, designer and illustrator of Stranger Issues sequence key artwork.
Jody Houser provides in a press release:
“As quickly as I noticed Stranger Issues season 4, I knew the story of Eddie Munson and the Hellfire Membership can be an ideal sequel to our Stranger Issues and Dungeons & Dragons miniseries.
“Each Eric and I are very acquainted with how D&D forges friendships and storytellers, and it has been great exploring Hawkins via that lens.”
Darkish Horse is framing the story as a “heartfelt send-off” for Eddie, who rapidly turned some of the standard Stranger Issues characters ever because of his iconic scene taking part in the solo from Metallica’s Grasp of Puppets on guitar, and the actually deep bond he constructed with the characters within the sequence, who he finally gave his life for.
