The Kwara State Police Command has mentioned that it arrested two suspects allegedly discovered with a stolen Toyota Camry automotive.
The command, in an announcement by its spokesperson, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, on Wednesday, mentioned that the automotive with quantity plate APP 443 CX reportedly stolen in Lagos State was discovered at a spare elements supplier’s store within the Ipata-Oloje space in Ilorin, Kwara State capital final week Friday.
“Performing on intelligence obtained from a motor spare elements supplier in Ipata-Oloje, Ilorin, detectives apprehended two suspects on twenty second November 2024 at about 1800 hours.
“The suspects, Gabiyu Lawal (M, 43) of Babasoja, Gambari, Ilorin, and Ademola Waheed (M, 45) of Sango Highway, Ilorin, have been intercepted with the automobile.
“Throughout a radical search of the automotive, a GSM quantity linked to the proprietor, Mr. Ajibade Abel of Badagry Highway, Lagos, was discovered. Upon contact, Mr. Abel confirmed the automobile had been stolen from a car parking zone in Lagos and that the case had been reported at Space C Police Command, Surulere, Lagos.
“The suspects admitted buying the automobile for a suspiciously low value of ₦400,000 and supposed to resell it in Ilorin for ₦1,000,000.
“Additional investigations are underway to establish different accomplices and unravel the complete extent of their legal actions,” the assertion added.
The PPRO mentioned that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Victor Olaiya, counseled members of the general public for his or her vigilance and urged them to proceed their cooperation in offering well timed intelligence to make sure a safer Kwara State.
