New Jail Photos Reveal Stark Contrast in ‘Deadpool Killer’ Wade Wilson’s Appearance
Recently released jail photos of convicted murderer Wade Wilson—dubbed the Deadpool Killer—reveal a drastically different image from the polished persona he projected during his trial.
Wilson, sentenced to death in August 2024 for the brutal murders of Kristine Melton, 35, and Diane Ruiz, 43, was known for his heavily tattooed face, which he reportedly tried to conceal with makeup during court appearances. He was also allowed to wear street clothes and style his hair slicked back, presenting a more composed look as he faced the jury.
However, new images obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, shared by YouTube blogger Melissa Jade, show a starkly different Wilson behind bars. The photos, taken between 2022 and 2023 when he logged into his jail tablet, depict him with a bloated face, varying hairstyles—including a buzz cut and longer hair tied with a headband—and visibly chipped teeth.
Wilson’s tattoos have also expanded over time, with additions like two swastikas and a Joker-inspired “Why So Serious? Ha Ha Ha” inked across his face.
The Crimes That Led to His Conviction
Wilson’s trial lasted just two hours before the jury found him guilty of First-Degree Murder, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Battery, Burglary, and First-Degree Petit Theft. Prosecutors detailed his violent spree, which began on October 7, 2019, when he allegedly killed Melton after they took drugs and slept together. He then stole her car and used her phone to contact his girlfriend, Melissa Montanez, whom he later assaulted before fleeing.
That same day, Wilson encountered Ruiz in Cape Coral while asking for directions. Prosecutors say he strangled her and then repeatedly ran her over with Melton’s stolen car, leaving her body so mangled that her family could only identify her by her back tattoos. Her remains were discovered after vultures were seen circling the area.
Following the murders, Wilson—covered in blood—allegedly entered a restaurant and confessed to an acquaintance that he had killed two women. When the man called 911, Wilson fled, eventually breaking into an empty home before his capture.
Fan Support and Controversy
Despite his heinous crimes, Wilson received fan mail and financial support through GoFundMe campaigns during his trial. After his sentencing, State Attorney Amira Fox condemned those idolizing him, emphasizing that Wilson was “nothing more than a vicious killer” and “the poorest representation of a man there could ever be.”
Melissa Jade, who shared the newly released images, clarified that her content aims to raise awareness of Wilson’s victims, not glorify the killer. Her post included a tribute to Melton and Ruiz, ensuring that the focus remains on justice for their tragic deaths.
