Toya Johnson Opens Up About Lil Wayne Marriage, Sparks Reactions
Toya Johnson set the internet buzzing after candidly discussing her past marriage to Lil Wayne in a recent interview.
Appearing on Carlos King’s podcast Really With The King, the reality star and entrepreneur didn’t hold back, revealing that she could still be in a “situationship” with Wayne if she wanted to—but she chose to walk away due to his infidelity.
“When you’re young, you go through a lot, you take a lot. At a certain point, you wake up and say, ‘I deserve better.
Now I have a daughter,’” Toya shared. Despite their history, she emphasized that she and Wayne are strictly platonic now and have a great co-parenting relationship.
“We’ve known each other for so long, we don’t even look at each other like that anymore,” she added.
Toya also made it clear that while she could have remained just “Wayne’s baby mama,” she knows her worth. “I’m a wife! I know what I want in life,” she declared, highlighting her commitment to her husband, Robert “Red” Rushing.

While Toya’s comments stirred conversation online, her husband, Red Rushing, seemed unfazed. Shortly after the interview aired, he shared a heartfelt Instagram post featuring a photo of him kissing Toya on the forehead. In the caption, he reflected on being by her side during one of the most difficult moments of her life—the loss of her brothers in 2016.
“I held you while you were full of emotions, and I told you, ‘I AM HERE AND I GOT YOU.’ This was years ago, and baby, nothing has changed,” he wrote, reassuring Toya of his love and support.
Toya quickly responded in the comments, writing, “My heart. 
Love you so much.”
With Red standing firmly by her side, Toya continues to embrace her past while looking forward to her future.
