Confirming the incident to Daily Trust, the village head, Suleiman Adamu, said it occurred around 2:34 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

According to Adamu, Mama Zahra, a mother of four, had gone to a borehole to fetch water when she suddenly collapsed while carrying a basin of water on her head. Nearby residents rushed to assist her, pouring water on her in an attempt to revive her.

She was then transported on a motorcycle to Kwaku Primary Health Centre, where medical personnel confirmed her death.

The village head stated that upon learning of the incident, he sent two aides to inform her husband, who was working on the farm at the time.

The grieving husband later revealed that his wife had complained of a severe headache the night before. He had given her paracetamol before leaving for the farm after the Subhi (early morning) prayers.

Medical personnel at the health center attributed her death to complications from high blood pressure.
