Judge Dismisses Most of Rodney Jones’ Lawsuit Against Diddy
Diddy scored a partial legal victory after a judge dismissed most of the claims in a lawsuit filed against him by former music producer Rodney Jones, who accused him of sexual assault.
According to newly obtained legal documents, the judge tossed five of the nine claims in Jones’ lawsuit, including allegations of racketeering (RICO), infliction of emotional distress, and breach of contract. The court also dismissed a claim under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act against Diddy’s company, Combs Global.
Adding to the legal setback for Jones, his attorney, Tyrone A. Blackburn, was sharply criticized by the judge for subpar legal filings. The judge pointed out that Blackburn appeared to misunderstand fundamental legal principles, including the presumption of innocence in Diddy’s separate grand jury indictment on criminal charges.
Jones originally filed the lawsuit in February 2024, with Diddy dismissing it as a baseless cash grab disguised as a sex trafficking and RICO case. Despite the recent dismissals, the lawsuit is still moving forward, as key sexual assault allegations remain intact.
Rodney’s lawyer remained defiant, telling TMZ, “A win is a win. Playtime is over. We look forward to discovery. I hope Defendants are ready.”
