During a Sallah homecoming rally in Okehi, Kogi State, on April 1, 2025, Natasha claimed Akpabio had engaged Kogi Governor Ododo and former Governor Yahaya Bello in discussions about her removal. She alleged that Akpabio pressured Bello to fund a recall process and even suggested a plan to eliminate her in a way that would appear as a local attack.

In response, Akpabio’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, dismissed the accusations, stating that the Senate President remains focused on governance and will not be sidetracked by baseless claims.

“My reaction is simple: whoever alleges must provide proof. That is a fundamental principle of law,” Eyiboh said in an interview. “The Senate President is fully engaged in working with his colleagues to ensure constructive collaboration with the executive to fulfill the Renewed Hope agenda for Nigerians.”
