Prosecutors Push to Revoke Young Thug’s Probation Over Social Media Post
Prosecutors Urge Judge to Jail Young Thug Over Social Media Repost
Young Thug’s freedom is at risk as Fulton County prosecutors push to have him jailed again, accusing him of endangering a witness in a murder case through social media.

On Wednesday, prosecutors filed a motion asking the judge to revoke Thug’s probation, arguing that he violated court orders by reposting an image of a police investigator who was testifying in a gang-related murder trial.
The image, originally posted by a blogger, defied a judge’s order prohibiting media from showing the witness on TV. The blogger’s caption read, “She doesn’t want to be shown on screen? Well, here she is.”
On Tuesday, Young Thug amplified the post by sharing it with his own caption, naming the investigator and calling her “the biggest liar in the DA’s office.”
According to prosecutors, the post quickly went viral, racking up over two million views and sparking thousands of comments, including threats directed at the investigator and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, has been out of jail since October after striking a plea deal in the YSL RICO case. He pleaded guilty to criminal street gang activity and was sentenced to 15 years of probation.
Now, prosecutors argue that his social media activity amounts to a “campaign of intimidation, harassment, and misinformation” aimed at obstructing justice.
They are urging the judge to revoke his probation immediately, setting an example that witness intimidation will not be tolerated.

However, Thug’s attorneys, Brian Steel and Keith Adams, are pushing back. In a statement to TMZ, they argued that “Mr. Williams did not violate any term of probation, and thus, the State’s Motion to Revoke Probation must be dismissed.”
They further claimed that Young Thug cannot be held accountable for comments made by others on social media and that the prosecution’s motion lacks sufficient grounds.
The judge’s decision on the matter could determine whether Young Thug remains free or finds himself back behind bars.
