Mick Jagger, 81, Engaged to Melanie Hamrick, 37
Sir Mick Jagger’s longtime partner, Melanie Hamrick, has officially confirmed that the couple is engaged—though a wedding might not be in the cards just yet.

Melanie, 37, revealed in a recent interview with Paris Match that the Rolling Stones frontman, 81, proposed “two or three years ago,” but the couple has chosen not to rush into marriage. “Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not,” she said. “We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything.”
Jagger and Hamrick first met in Japan over a decade ago while both were touring—he with the Rolling Stones and she with the American Ballet Theatre. They welcomed their son, Devereaux Octavian Basil Jagger, in 2016, making him the youngest of Jagger’s eight children.
Melanie emphasized that their strong bond is built on mutual happiness and support. “We try to support each other, be there for each other, and make sure everyone is happy,” she explained. “That’s all that matters to me.”
Rumors about their engagement have swirled since 2023, when Melanie was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left hand. At the time, she told PEOPLE it was “a promise ring,” joking, “We’ll be immature and call it that.”
Sources previously told the Mirror that Melanie had openly referred to the ring as an engagement ring among friends and family, who were reportedly thrilled by the news.
Sir Mick has seven other children from previous relationships, including with singer Marsha Hunt, model Jerry Hall, and designer L’Wren Scott. Despite his complex family history, Jagger seems to have found lasting stability with Hamrick.
For now, the couple is content with their low-key, committed relationship—with or without a wedding.
