Fuel Tanker Explosion Destroys Properties in Ibadan
A petrol tanker exploded on April 12 at the Tollgate area of the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway in Ibadan, Oyo State, causing widespread destruction and damaging properties worth millions of naira.

The explosion, which occurred around 3 p.m. near Lead City University Road, came just a day after a major market fire in the city also resulted in significant property loss. Eyewitnesses said the blaze spread rapidly, engulfing several nearby shops, buildings, and parked vehicles.
Business owners and vehicle owners in the area suffered heavy losses, with cars and motorcycles destroyed by the intense flames.
The Oyo State Fire Service Manager, Akinyinka Akinyemi, confirmed the incident and noted that the swift response of both state and federal fire services helped bring the fire under control. Despite the extensive damage, he confirmed that there were no casualties.
Authorities have begun assessing the extent of the damage, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the tanker explosion.
