Aimee Lou Wood Slams ‘SNL’ Skit as ‘Mean’ and ‘Unfunny’
Aimee Lou Wood isn’t laughing at Saturday Night Live’s latest sketch — in fact, she called it “mean” and “unfunny.”

The Sex Education and White Lotus star responded to a recent SNL parody titled The White POTUS, a political spin on HBO’s hit series The White Lotus, where cast member Sarah Sherman portrayed a character inspired by Wood.
The sketch, which aired alongside the announcement of White Lotus season 3, featured exaggerated prosthetics — including large fake teeth — and a mock British accent, which many viewers took as a jab at Wood’s appearance, particularly her teeth, something she’s openly spoken about being sensitive to.

In the sketch, Sherman’s character makes a joke about not knowing what fluoride is, shortly after Jon Hamm’s spoof of RFK Jr. mentions wanting it out of drinking water — a subtle but pointed reference many interpreted as another dig at Wood’s dental features. While the studio audience laughed, Wood was less amused.
Taking to Instagram, the actress admitted she found the parody unnecessarily cruel, saying, “It felt just plain mean and not even funny,” adding that while she understands satire, the sketch struck a nerve.
She acknowledged feeling “righteous” when posting and hinted she might delete it later.
Wood also contrasted her experience with SNL to her time at HBO, where, despite initial reluctance to cast her, the team — led by White Lotus creator Mike White — ultimately embraced her without ridicule.
She clarified that no HBO executive ever called her “ugly,” despite online speculation that stemmed from a misquoted interview where she discussed her own insecurities.
Following her post, Wood said someone from SNL reached out privately with an apology, though she didn’t indicate whether she accepted it. Meanwhile, SNL has made no public statement on the matter.
Interestingly, her White Lotus co-star Walton Goggins appeared to find the sketch amusing, commenting “Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg” on Instagram — despite ongoing rumors of tension between the two behind the scenes.
While Aimee seems ready to move past the situation, it’s unlikely she’ll be heading to Studio 8H anytime soon.
