Armed Man Detained at UnitedHealthcare HQ Months After Mangione Incident
A tense security scare unfolded at UnitedHealthcare’s headquarters in Minnetonka, Minnesota, where a man was taken into custody after reportedly claiming to have a gun and making alarming demands.

Law enforcement and the FBI responded swiftly to the scene on Monday, April 14, after receiving reports of a potential intruder on the corporate campus.
Sources say the suspect, who was seated in his vehicle outside the building, contacted law enforcement himself. During the call, he appeared agitated, allegedly admitted to possessing a pistol, demanded $1 million, and insisted he wouldn’t be “taken alive.”
The situation prompted a heavy police presence, and after tense negotiations, FBI agents convinced the man to surrender peacefully.
Authorities confirmed that a firearm was later found in the suspect’s car. He is now being questioned by local police and federal agents.
The motive behind the man’s actions remains unclear, but the incident has drawn attention due to its unsettling parallels with a separate tragedy months earlier.
In December, former UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was fatally shot in Manhattan. Luigi Mangione was arrested in connection with the murder and has since gained an unusual online cult following.
Investigators have not yet confirmed any connection between the man detained in Minnesota and Mangione, but the timing and location have raised questions about a possible link or copycat influence.
The investigation is ongoing as officials work to determine the suspect’s intentions and whether there are broader security concerns.
