UnitedHealthcare Suspect ID’d, Mugshot Released

The man arrested outside UnitedHealthcare headquarters in Minnesota has been identified as Ian Stanley Wagner — and his mug shot has now surfaced

According to law enforcement, Wagner was taken into custody on Monday for allegedly making violent threats targeting the UnitedHealthcare campus in Minnetonka.

The FBI and local police confirmed that Wagner contacted the FBI’s Minneapolis Field Office earlier that day, threatening violence unless certain demands were met.

Authorities noted that Wagner didn’t appear to have any direct grievances against UnitedHealthcare itself.

That distinction is significant given the December killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York — a case in which Luigi Mangione is the accused shooter.

FBI officials say Wagner communicated by phone with a crisis negotiator before ultimately surrendering to agents and officers at the scene.

During the standoff, he reportedly claimed he was armed, demanded $1 million, and vowed not to be taken alive. Police later recovered a firearm from his vehicle.

The situation prompted a large-scale law enforcement response to the corporate campus. Wagner is now in custody and facing charges related to threats of violence.
