Banky W Celebrates Earning Master’s Degree from Georgetown University
Nigerian singer, actor, and politician Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, is celebrating a significant academic achievement — earning a Master’s degree in Policy Management from the prestigious Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., renowned for its public policy program.
Taking to Instagram, Banky W shared photos from his graduation and reflected on his journey over the past few years.
While studying full-time, he also served as a Fellow on Capitol Hill and welcomed his second son, Hezekiah Oluwadarasimi Wellington, with his wife, actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington — all while navigating the demands of raising two children in the U.S.
In a moving caption, he spoke about the emotional, spiritual, and mental strength required to complete the program.
“You can’t pour from an empty cup,” he wrote, explaining that stepping away from public life allowed him to heal, grow, and rediscover his sense of purpose.
He concluded his post with an uplifting reminder: “It’s never too late to dream a new dream or to redefine the ending of an existing one.”
Adding a touch of humor, Banky hinted at the idea of pursuing a PhD someday, joking that while he’s interested, his wife playfully suggests that his “next wife” might have to support that decision. “But first,” he added, “let me make some money.”
