Man Allegedly Murders Wife in Edo

A man identified as Esosa Imasuen has been accused of fatally assaulting his wife, Chinwendu Nnadozie, in Benin City, Edo State.
According to reports, the tragic incident occurred after a domestic dispute at their residence on Oza Street in the Ogbelaka area along Sakponba Road. Esosa allegedly beat the mother of three, inflicting severe injuries.
Chinwendu was rushed to a hospital, where medical personnel reportedly diagnosed her with internal bleeding caused by the assault. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries before her family could reach her.
The victim’s father, Everistus Nnadozie, recounted receiving a distressing call informing him that his son-in-law had severely beaten his daughter and taken her to the hospital.
He said the doctors discovered internal bleeding during testing, but she died shortly after.
Disturbingly, Everistus claimed that Esosa took his daughter’s body to an undisclosed mortuary without informing the family and has since gone into hiding.
“I went to his house, but they said he had absconded,” the grieving father said, adding that his repeated calls to Esosa to reveal the mortuary’s location have gone unanswered.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether an arrest has been made, but the case has sparked outrage and calls for justice from the local community.
