Britney Spears Defends Odd Plane Behavior

Britney Spears has broken her silence following reports of her erratic behavior on a private jet flight from Mexico, and she’s brushing the incident off as a misunderstanding — with her signature flair.
Taking to Instagram Friday night, the pop icon addressed claims that she was difficult during the flight and attempted to smoke onboard, which led to a conversation with police upon landing.
Britney called the whole incident “incredibly funny” and insisted she didn’t know smoking was prohibited, saying she assumed it was allowed because of the plane’s setup.
“My friend put [a cigarette] in my mouth and lit it, so I was like, ‘Oh, so this is a plane where you can smoke!’” she wrote.
Britney also revealed that she tried vodka for the first time during the trip, claiming it made her feel “clear and smart.”
Despite her lighthearted tone, she did offer a brief apology to anyone she may have offended — though she quickly shifted gears to accuse the flight crew of treating her poorly.
According to Spears, she was made to sit at the back of the plane and felt targeted by the flight attendant from the start.
“Nobody was on the plane for the first 20 minutes and she wouldn’t let me stand up! I didn’t like the way she put the seatbelt on me — it felt like an invasion of space!” she added.
The flight may have been turbulent emotionally as well, with sources close to the singer reportedly concerned about her mental health.
Some are questioning how she was released from her conservatorship in 2021, suggesting this latest episode is another red flag.

Despite the controversy, Spears seems to be taking the ordeal in stride — at least publicly.
