Abductors Break Estate Fence, Kidnap Two in Abuja

The Abuja police successfully rescued one of two residents abducted from Grow Homes Estate, Kuchibuyi village in Byazhin on May 26.

According to a statement by FCT Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh, around 1 a.m., officers stationed near the estate received a distress call reporting an armed attack and requested backup.

Police quickly responded and discovered that armed assailants had broken through the estate’s rear perimeter fence, forcibly abducting two residents.

A prolonged gunfight lasting about 40 minutes ensued between the attackers and police. During the confrontation, officers managed to rescue one victim, identified as Chinyere Joe, but the kidnappers escaped with the second victim.

SP Adeh stated that the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping unit, working alongside the army and other security agencies, has launched an operation to track down the kidnappers and secure the safe release of the remaining abductee.

Residents in the area have been urged to stay alert, cooperate with security forces, and report any suspicious activity immediately through the emergency numbers: 08032003913, 08028940883, and 07057337653.
