PDP Delays NEC Meeting

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its scheduled National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, originally set for May 27, 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
According to Anyanwu, the decision to delay the meeting was taken to give the Reconciliation Committee, led by former Senate President Senator Bukola Saraki, adequate time to conclude its efforts in resolving ongoing internal party disputes.
He emphasized that the aim is to ensure a more harmonious and productive NEC gathering.
The statement expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the postponement and assured party members that a new date would be announced soon in accordance with the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended) and the Electoral Act of 2022.
Anyanwu also warned that any notice or announcement of an NEC meeting issued by the Deputy National Secretary acting in an unofficial capacity is invalid and should be ignored, describing such publications as “unauthorized and illegal.”
