Tobi Amusan Breaks 100m Hurdles Record at Diamond League Morocco

Nigerian sprint hurdler Tobi Amusan delivered a stunning performance on Sunday at the Rabat Diamond League, winning the women’s 100m hurdles in record-breaking fashion.
The 28-year-old clocked a season-best 12.24 seconds, not only claiming victory but also setting a new meet record.
Her time shattered the previous record of 12.51 seconds set by American hurdler Brianna McNeal.
Amusan’s dominant display saw her comfortably ahead of her competitors.
Nadine Visser of the Netherlands finished second with a season-best of 12.67 seconds, while Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska came in third with 12.69 seconds, also her best time of the season.
Several other athletes delivered noteworthy performances. Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji clocked 12.71 seconds (SB), Italy’s Giada Carmassi recorded a personal best of 12.81 seconds, followed by Elena Carraro (12.89s), USA’s Destiny Huven (12.93s), France’s Sacha Alessandrini (12.96s SB), and Austria’s Karin Strametz (13.08s SB). The race was run under favorable wind conditions of +1.2 m/s.
Amusan’s triumph in Rabat marks her first major win of the 2025 athletics season. Prior to this, she had placed fourth at back-to-back Diamond League meets in Xiamen and Shanghai in May.
Her Rabat victory reinforces her status as one of the top contenders in the hurdles circuit this year.
