AEDC Worker Electrocuted During Power Repairs in Abuja

An employee of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Mustapha Isa, tragically lost his life after being electrocuted while working to resolve a power fault at the company’s Mabushi office in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred around 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
Isa was reportedly assigned to fix an electrical issue when he was electrocuted during the process.
The shock caused him to fall from the electricity pole, resulting in a severe head injury.
A nearby police patrol team quickly responded to the emergency and rushed Isa to Gwarinpa General Hospital.
Unfortunately, medical personnel pronounced him dead on arrival.
His body has since been moved to the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi for an autopsy.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident and assess any lapses in safety protocol.
