Bayelsa Police Confirm Girl’s Death in Hotel Room

The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the tragic death of a young woman whose body was discovered in a hotel room located in the Igbogene area of Yenagoa, the state capital.
According to reports from local residents, the deceased had checked into the hotel with a young man believed to be an internet fraudster, commonly known as a “Yahoo boy.” Witnesses claim the man left the hotel alone shortly after their arrival, leaving the woman behind.
Several hours later, hotel staff discovered the woman’s lifeless body in the room and immediately notified officers at the Igbogene Divisional Police Headquarters.
Police personnel responded swiftly, evacuating the body to a nearby mortuary. The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed as investigations continue.
Speaking on the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer for Bayelsa State, DSP Musa Muhammad, confirmed that the matter is under active investigation.
“We received the report yesterday. Although no arrests have been made at this point, we are pursuing several leads to identify and apprehend those responsible.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death,” he said.
The police have assured the public that all efforts are being made to uncover the circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death and bring the perpetrator(s) to justice.
