Buhari Minister Abdullahi Quits APC ahead of 2027

Mohammed H. Abdullahi, former Minister of Environment under the Buhari administration, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State.
Abdullahi, a key figure in the party and holder of the traditional title Magajin Garin Uke, made his departure known through a letter dated June 1, 2025, addressed to the APC chairman of Uke Ward in Karu Local Government Area.
In the letter, Abdullahi cited personal reasons for his resignation but did not elaborate further.
He expressed gratitude for the cooperation and support he received during his time with the APC, highlighting the modest contributions he and his colleagues made toward strengthening the party in the state.
The letter was also sent to the APC state chairman and the Karu Local Government Area party chairman, formalizing his exit from all party activities.
Abdullahi has recently engaged in discussions with influential political stakeholders throughout Nasarawa, fueling speculation about his next move.
Sources suggest he is preparing to formally announce his candidacy for the Nasarawa governorship in the 2027 general elections.
Though there are rumors that he may join an opposition party to pursue his gubernatorial ambitions, no official confirmation has yet been made regarding his future political affiliation.
