Inzaghi Departs Inter Milan by Mutual Consent

Simone Inzaghi has officially parted ways with Inter Milan “by mutual agreement,” just three days after the club’s crushing 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
The 49-year-old manager, who took charge in 2021, is reportedly in advanced talks with Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal. His exit was confirmed following a meeting with club executives on Tuesday.
In a heartfelt farewell, Inzaghi expressed gratitude for his time at the club:
“The time has come for me to say goodbye to this club after a four-year journey, during which I gave everything.
I want to dedicate one last word to the millions of Nerazzurri fans who cheered me on, cried and suffered in difficult moments, and celebrated our six triumphs. I will never forget you.”
Inter president Giuseppe Marotta also issued a statement, thanking Inzaghi for his dedication and passion:
“Only when you’ve fought side by side for success can you have the kind of honest dialogue we did.
I thank Simone for his work, his honesty, and the commitment he brought to Inter Milan.”
During his tenure, Inzaghi won six trophies with the club—one Serie A title, two Coppa Italias, and three Supercoppa Italiana titles.
He also led Inter to back-to-back Champions League finals, though they fell short on both occasions—losing narrowly to Manchester City in 2023 and suffering a historic defeat to PSG in 2025.
Despite a strong campaign, Inter missed out on the 2024–25 Serie A title by a single point to Napoli.
Inzaghi’s departure comes just ahead of Inter’s appearance in the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off in the United States from June 14 to July 13—where Al-Hilal, his likely next destination, will also be competing.
